The legends of Hinduism and the eternal battle between
Dharma and Adharma are brought to the modern age of story-telling, with compelling visual imagery.
Born in India, C.V. Sastry is a Yorkton resident whose work delves into the profound depths of Hindu
philosophy, mythology, and spiritual symbolism.
Utilizing Corel PaintShop and AI, these intricate digital artworks breathe new life into ancient Hindu mythology.
To provide a dynamic and immersive experience, he has utilized three distinct mediums: Canvas, Posters, and Aluminium Prints.
From Hanuman’s first meeting with Ravana—portrayed as a clash of power and righteousness—to his eight Siddhis, showcasing the original superhero with divine abilities, each artwork is a gateway
to understanding the depth of Sanatana Dharma. The works also draw parallels to the modern world, shedding light on contemporary ethical dilemmas, leadership, and the pursuit of knowledge.
One of the defining themes of this work is the scientific and philosophical depth of ancient Indian thought.
The depiction of Hanuman leaping toward the Sun transforms into a metaphor for
seeking wisdom, battling ignorance, and overcoming obstacles in the path of enlightenment. Similarly, the ascent to heaven and descent to hell showcase karma, choice, and the consequences of human action, reminding us of the intricate moral framework embedded in Hindu philosophy.
The works emphasize how Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism) is not a set of imposed rules but a universal order, a guiding principle of righteousness that applies to all beings, beyond time and space.
Through this artistic journey, the artist seeks to revive and reinterpret ancient wisdom, making it accessible to a global audience. Whether it is the symbolism behind Hanuman tearing open his chest to reveal Lord Rama or the compassionate leadership of Lord Rama giving refuge to Vibheeshana, the message is clear—these stories are not relics of the past, but eternal truths that still shape the world today.
By merging art, philosophy, and history, C.V. Sastry stands primarily as a modern-day storyteller, ensuring that the legends of Hinduism are preserved and understood and appreciated by future generations.
